FLU VaccinationMore and more of our children are attending childcare and preschool facilities at a younger age. There are even infant care facilities these days!
I feel that this is more so compared to when I was a young child. Influenza is a contagious Respiratory virus that can wreak havoc on anyone with a weakened immune system or even healthy individuals. It is also known as " The Flu ". There is Vaccination available. The Flu vaccination is recommended for children between the age of 6 months to 5 years. This is the age group that is vulnerable to serious complications such as chest infection (Pneumonia), Middle Ear Infection, Brain Infection (Meningitis) etc. For Children below 9 years of age, they will need 2 shots separated by 4 weeks if they have not been previously vaccinated. If you are thinking of putting your child in a Preschool or Childcare facility, you might want to consider the Flu vaccination as a precaution. Drop by our clinic in Yishun for a consult. We are located next to Khatib MRT station and not across the road. Please bring along the Baby Health Booklet so that previous vaccinations can be reviewed as well. GREENLINK MEDICAL CLINIC
