HPV - CERVICAL CANCER VACCINATIONHPV
Human Papillomavirus (HPV) is a virus that affects both males and females. It is spread by contact and about half of all sexually active males and females will contract it in their life time. HPV is the most common cause of cervical cancer and about 2/3 of these are linked to HPV Types 16 and 18. Vaccination is now available to prevent HPV infection. The recommended age group for vaccination is between 9 to 26 years of age. Our clinic, GREENLINK MEDICAL CLINIC carries Gardasil 9 which covers 9 HPV types - 16, 18, 6, 11, 31, 33, 45, 52, 58. Vaccination requires 3 doses. The first dose is followed by the second in 2 months and the third after 6 months. *Currently Gardasil 9 has not yet been included in the list of Medisave approved vaccines. In addition, the stocks for Gardasil 9 are relatively low. If you do the vaccination with us, we will set aside the stocks for the follow up vaccines for you. If you choose not to continue doing the vaccine with our clinic, do let us know so that we can release the vaccine to other patients. |
