RESIDENT DOCTOROur Resident Family Physician is Dr Gideon Hong.
Dr Hong graduated from NUS in 2001 with an MBBS. He went to on do further training in dermatology and family medicine, graduating in 2005 with a Diploma in Practical Dermatology from Cardiff University in Wales and in 2007 with a Graduate Diploma in Family Medicine from NUS. In 2011, he was officially recognized as a Family Physician in the Family Physician Register by the Singapore Medical Council. In 2013, he attained Certificates in Competencies in Botox and Filler Injections from the Dermatological Society of Singapore (DSS) & National Skin Centre and the Aesthetic Dermatology Educational Group (ADEG). Both the DSS and ADEG are accredited by the SMC Aesthetic Procedures Oversight Committee. In 2019, he completed the Certificate in Competency in Non Surgical Body Contouring with ADEG. Dr Hong completed his basic medical training in 2001 and went on to work in the local hospital system. He has done rotations in various hospital specialty departments like Orthopaedics, Internal Medicine, Obstetric & Gynaecology, Cardiothoracic Surgery, A&E and Paediatric Surgery. His interest has always been in Primary Healthcare and General Practice. Dr Hong has worked all over Singapore as well as on the offshore islands. He has done work for the major medical groups such as Raffles Medical Group, Parkway Shenton, Healthway Medical Group and some smaller private medical groups. He previously worked in Bedok Polyclinic from 2005 to 2007 and also in Woods Medical Clinic Pte Ltd in Eastwood Centre. Outside of work, Dr Hong used to play tennis. He was an active tennis player during his school days but stopped playing after he left JC. His rackets are now stuck in his racket bag. He can't seem to get the zip opened, its been jammed for a long time. Even if he does manage, he needs to get it restrung. He watches a lot of TV and reading interests are very very varied. |
