Hepatitis A - How Does it Spread?
Mainly Faecal - Oral Route - Yikes!!!
- Contaminated Water (including ice cubes)
- Contaminated Food such as Raw Food (raw fish), Shellfish, Fruits, Salad etc.
- Close contacts
- Childcare Centres/Kindergartens/Schools/Hostels
Hepatitis A Infection - ADULTS
- Severity INCREASES with AGE
- A mild illness will last for a few weeks.
- In Severe illness its lasts for several months.
- More severe and GREATER risk of DEATH in patients >40 years old.
- Adults will usually miss on average 30 days of work.
Hepatitis A Infection - CHILDREN
- Infection is usually Asymptomatic or Unrecognized.
- 21% of Children below 5 years old require HOSPITALISATION

Go for a Test:
- Blood test available to test if you require vaccination or already have antibodies.
